Davidow Vintage 1960s Bouclé Jacket — Licensed Chanel Copy, Virgin Wool, MM Cohn Little Rock, S/M

$228

In 1960, Vogue ran a five-page Chanel feature. Every suit in the shoot was Davidow. Licensed copies. Davidow paid Chanel for the right to reproduce the silhouette, and in some cases the exact fabric. This jacket is from that era. Blue and crimson bouclé plaid, pure virgin wool, ILGWU union made in the USA. The lining is hot pink. The buttons are lavender dome, grey-purple and slightly iridescent. Original to the jacket. It was sold at MM Cohn in Little Rock. The construction is what Davidow was known for. The fabric does the work. No applied ornamentation. No surface decoration. A very good textile cut by people who understood what they were doing. Chest patch pockets with flap detail. Slightly boxy, hip-length silhouette. The kind of jacket that looks expensive. The bones don’t lie.
